Attention all of you fellow boat loving Vegans! You finally have a restaurant that you can not only pull your boat into, but also nom on an AMAZING Vegan Burger 🙂 Mike’s On The Water in Saint Clair Shores, MI has adapted a burger to fit the needs of their Vegan customers. This delicious entree comes with a homemade Lentil, Quinoa and Roasted Garlic Patty, Lettuce, Pickle, Tomato and a side of their personalized Herb Vegan Mayo!
Today I was lucky enough to speak with the Chef one on one about how he came to create this tasty burger. Chef Derrick mentioned that he wanted all customers to enjoy the true spirit and flavor of Mike’s On The Water, no matter their dietary restrictions. He also described how they have a specific grill designated for their Vegan Burgers, ensuring that if anyone is Vegan due to food allergies that they are safe to eat here. Along with the preparation he also talked about how he tailored their mayo to be a smooth flavor instead of the usual “tang” that mayo can have. I personally thought that the mayo paired perfectly and truly brought the burger together.
Although they do not have a separate fryer for onion rings, fries etc… I do believe that they have the best onion rings ANYWHERE! If you come here and try one thing, you should get the Vegan Burger with a side of Onion Rings and you will be in food heaven 🙂
